Perhaps you\u2019ve already seen this classic poem, created (so far as I\u2019m aware) at Sonoma State University in California. \u00a0But just in case you haven\u2019t, I\u2019m reproducing it here. \u00a0And even if you have<\/em> read it, it\u2019s still funny.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
The point is that everything in this poem would be accepted by a computer\u2019s spelling checker, which suggests that there may still be some value, for writers of English, in learning to spell, and that abject and utter dependence upon a computer can lead to embarrassing disaster:<\/p>\n

I halve a spelling chequer<\/span>
