If so friendly and fair-minded a scholar\u00a0fails to get us right, is there much hope that many outsiders ever will? \u00a0And is there much reason to believe that scholars writing about religious traditions not their own, and especially those remote in time and culture, ever really grasp the beliefs of those they study?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s too late right now, and I\u2019m too tired, to seriously address this piece. \u00a0But somebody should, and perhaps eventually I will.<\/p>\n
