John 7:1-13<\/a><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt cannot be,\u201d said Jesus in Luke 13:33, \u201cthat a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.\u201d<\/p>\n

Members of his family knew that the authorities in Jerusalem were plotting Jesus\u2019 death, so they encouraged him to \u201cgo up\u201d to the city.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
He told them that he wouldn\u2019t, yet. \u00a0And then, after they had left, he did so secretly. \u00a0Plainly, Jesus was capable of stratagem. \u00a0He knew that he had to die, but there were other things that he still wanted to do first.<\/p>\n
