Tintern Abbey, in Ireland\u2019s County Wexford, was founded\u00a0in approximately 1200 AD by monks from the abbey of the same name located on the Welsh border. \u00a0That one, eventually made famous in a poem by William Wordsworth, had been established roughly two generations earlier.
