Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints<\/a> are more popular among the American public than atheists and Muslims, but less popular than Jews, Catholics, Evangelical Christians, Buddhists, and Hindus.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
So it\u2019s time, yet again, for one of my favorite passages from Robert Bolt\u2019s great play A Man for All Seasons<\/em>:<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
William Roper:<\/strong> \u00a0So, now you give the Devil the benefit of law!<\/span><\/p>\nSir Thomas More: \u00a0<\/strong>Yes! \u00a0What would you do? \u00a0Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?<\/span><\/p>\nWilliam Roper:<\/strong>\u00a0Yes, I\u2019d cut down every law in England to do that!<\/span><\/p>\nSir Thomas More: \u00a0<\/strong>Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned \u2019round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? \u00a0This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast, Man\u2019s laws, not God\u2019s! \u00a0And if you cut them down, and you\u2019re just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? \u00a0Yes, I\u2019d give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety\u2019s sake!<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
