I\u2019ve seen this mountain most every day that I\u2019ve been in Utah. That\u2019s irrelevant to this post, of course, but it\u2019s still a pretty photograph. I love Alpengl\u00fchen or Alpineglow; I loved it when I lived in Interlaken, Switzerland, and saw it on the Jungfrau. I love it when I see it here.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I\u2019ve always loved the first verse of Isaiah 50, which is also the first verse of today\u2019s reading,\u00a02 Nephi 7<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here, the Lord addresses wayward Israel as his children, pointing out they\u00a0remain<\/em>\u00a0his children. \u00a0He hasn\u2019t divorced their mother or disowned or repudiated them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Any estrangement that exists is\u00a0their<\/em>\u00a0doing, resulting from\u00a0their<\/em>\u00a0choice. \u00a0Which surely implies that, if they seek reconciliation, he will be there, ready and willing to accept them again.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a powerful image.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

And it remains as true for us, to the extent that we stray, as it was for them.<\/p>\n
