It\u2019s the imperative patriotic duty of all of the Republican presidential candidates to train their fire on Mr. Trump. \u00a0He absolutely should not become president of the United States.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
They should do so consistently and fiercely.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
There is plenty in Mr. Trump\u2019s business record and personal life\u00a0and in the history of his political opinions to fuel days and weeks of substantive criticism. \u00a0He\u2019s an authoritarian progressive, a crude vulgarian, an opportunist, an arrogant egomaniac, a crassly offensive man who rarely if ever offers any specific plans for fixing America\u2019s problems.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Those problems are enormous and growing. \u00a0It\u2019s time to get really, really serious.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s one specific step: \u00a0Jeb Bush\u2019s Super-PAC should cease its embarrassing attacks on Marco Rubio immediately and try, although it\u2019s perhaps too late, to save the Republican Party from the prospect of nominating Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
