Among other things, I find it oddly encouraging. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because it suggests that (come the Millennium?) the task of redeeming the dead is actually practically possible, at least in terms of sheer numbers. \u00a0Given increasing populations, the ratio of the\u00a0dead\u00a0to the\u00a0living\u00a0isn\u2019t all that high; ancient populations were much smaller. \u00a0If we convert enough people, build enough temples, work in them with sufficient energy, enjoy increased access (via both records and revelation) to the necessary information, have a thousand years of peace, and so forth, the task\u00a0can be accomplished. \u00a0It isn\u2019t hopelessly overwhelming.<\/p>\n
