Most of the media talking-head reactions that I heard to Mitt Romney\u2019s Thursday speech regarding\u00a0Donald Trump were\u00a0stunningly negative. \u00a0That\u2019s been discouraging. \u00a0I\u2019ve lost a lot of respect for people like Andrea Tantaros and Laura Ingraham, for instance, over their responses.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
I think that Governor Romney\u2019s remarks would have been even more effective had he acknowledged his own comments upon receiving Mr. Trump\u2019s endorsement for the 2012 campaign, and then explained them and distanced himself from them. \u00a0I regret that he didn\u2019t do this. \u00a0t think that he could have done it rather easily.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, with that said: \u00a0I thought that Mr. Romney\u2019s remarks were superb. \u00a0He nailed Donald Trump on issue after issue after issue. \u00a0And most of the negative responses have been irrelevant. \u00a0Whether you think that Mr. Romney was a suitable spokesman, whether you like him or not \u2014 I was, and I do \u2014 has absolutely nothing to do with the substance of what he had to say, and it surely doesn\u2019t refute him.
