When I was in Tehran a number of years ago, my movements were limited and closely monitored. \u00a0I wasn\u2019t permitted to visit any private Iranian homes. \u00a0But one or two of those who went with me were Iranian-Americans, and they were allowed to visit family and friends. \u00a0One of them reported having\u00a0seen not a single portrait of the Ayatollah Khomeini, the \u201cfather\u201d of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in any of the homes that he had visited \u2014 but that he had<\/em> seen several photographs of Michael Jordan<\/em> hanging on the walls.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
