Gary Johnson<\/a> have their headquarters in Salt Lake City!<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
I have reservations about Gary Johnson \u2014 and, for that matter, about libertarianism as a whole, though I\u2019m sympathetic to it (especially on economics) \u2014 but I\u2019ve long wished that Utah had a more robust two-party political scene. \u00a0By which I mean a strong Republican Party and a strong Libertarian Party, debating over how best to take care of important functions while limiting government and, to the extent advisable, privatizing services.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
So I\u2019m not unhappy about having Johnson-Weld HQ here. \u00a0Nor am I unhappy about having Evan McMullin base his campaign here. \u00a0He seems to have libertarian leanings. \u00a0And he emphasizes federalism, which is another of my guiding political principles.<\/p>\n

If Utah can help to teach the national Republican Party a lesson for its willing infection by Trumpulism, I\u2019ll be happy. \u00a0Or, at least, a bit less unhappy<\/em>.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
