I remember, years ago, talking with a friend<\/a> \u2014 a Ph.D. in biochemistry \u2014 who runs a major federal laboratory near Washington DC dedicated to forensic DNA studies and who has literally \u201cwritten the book\u201d on the subject. \u00a0He was amused by the panoply of apparent Nobel Prize nominees who populate those CSI series, and by the lavishness of the labs in which they work.<\/p>\n
