I\u2019ll almost certainly\u00a0like the Supreme Court nomination that Mr. Trump has promised us for next week. \u00a0I thoroughly dislike Steve Bannon. \u00a0I like Betsy DeVos for Education, since I strongly favor school choice. \u00a0I regard Rex Tillerson as extremely competent, but worry about his coziness with Putin and Russia.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s a mixed bag, but I\u2019m cautiously optimistic in some respects<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I still have strong reservations, however, about whether Mr. Trump is intellectually and psychologically fit for the presidency:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I\u2019m worried, too, about Mr. Trump\u2019s treatment of Mexico:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

And, as I wrote in a blog entry the other day, I don\u2019t like his idea that the United States should seize Middle Eastern oilfields:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDonald Trump: \u2018Had we taken the oil, you wouldn\u2019t have ISIS'\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Some, responding to that post, insisted that Mr. Trump only meant that we should deny the revenue of those oilfields to ISIS, which would be entirely reasonable. \u00a0But that\u2019s not<\/em> all that he meant, as this article from roughly a year and a half ago illustrates:<\/p>\n
