Although I\u2019m not particularly enthused about Mr. Trump\u2019s border wall, and although I never thought that the notion that Mexico would pay for it was anything more than demagogic silliness \u2014 rhetorical red meat designed to excite\u00a0his base \u2014 I\u2019ve long believed that it\u2019s urgently important for the United States of America to gain control of our borders.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I also believe in obeying and sustaining the law.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

But, really, there needs to be some common sense and humanity involved, too. \u00a0Some exercise of discretion. \u00a0Some compassion, flexibility, and realism. \u00a0Some sense of proportion. \u00a0And it seems to me very arguable that those qualities were lacking in Teresa\u2019s\u00a0case:<\/p>\n
