The story is told in early Muslim sources of an old woman in Mecca, during the first years of Muhammad\u2019s prophetic ministry, who made a habit of throwing trash in\u00a0his\u00a0way\u00a0whenever he passed by her house.<\/p>\n

One day, when he walked out of his home there was no garbage. \u00a0This made Muhammad\u00a0inquire about the old woman, and he soon learned\u00a0that she was sick. \u00a0The Prophet went to visit her and to offer her any help that\u00a0she might need. \u00a0Seeing his genuine concern for her, the old woman was deeply\u00a0humbled and, at the same time, ashamed of the way that she had treated him. \u00a0She is said to have accepted Islam on the spot.<\/p>\n
