After lunch at Kibbutz En Gev, on the eastern shore of the lake, we traveled to Beit She\u2019an, where we walked through the impressive Roman-era ruins of the only city\u00a0of the \u201cDecapolis\u201d that\u2019s\u00a0located on the western side of the Jordan River.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Finally, we passed through a checkpoint into Palestinian territory and drove to and around\u00a0Jericho \u2014 including a stop for a photo of the Mount of Temptation \u2014 where we\u2019re lodging in the very nice (and quite large) Oasis Hotel. \u00a0Jericho has some of the best dates that I\u2019ve ever taste, and some of the best corn on the cob.<\/p>\n
