Having forced Stephen Smoot into exile in the frozen north and compelled him to study Egyptology there<\/a>, I was interested to notice, last night, that our flight path took us very close to Toronto, the small, remote Inuit village where he lives during the academic year.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
I checked the temperature outside the aircraft, and it was seventy-five (75) degrees below zero.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Seventy-five degrees!<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
In June!<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
And that was south<\/em> of Toronto. \u00a0Think how much colder it would be further north<\/em>!<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
I tell you, it was almost enough to soften my<\/em> hard heart. \u00a0Almost<\/em>. \u00a0If I had a conscience, I imagine that this might cause me some discomfort.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
