A good friend in Florida sent me the following five important points about government:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n

1. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity<\/span>\u00a0by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

2. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0What one person receives without working for,<\/span>\u00a0another person must work for without receiving.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

3. \u00a0\u00a0The government cannot give to anybody anything<\/span>\u00a0that the government does not first take from somebody else.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

4. \u00a0\u00a0You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

5. \u00a0\u00a0When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work,<\/span>\u00a0because the other half is going to take care of them,<\/span>\u00a0and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work,<\/span>\u00a0because somebody else is going to get what they work for,<\/span>\u00a0that is the beginning of the end of any nation!<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a strong proponent of free-market economics, so, of course, I like these items very, very much.<\/p>\n
