I would caution, though, that Emerson, a local boy, wasn\u2019t just talking about thoughts that merely \u201ccross our minds.\u201d \u00a0He had in view the thoughts that we allow to linger, that we come back to over and over again, that we nourish our daydreams.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
We can\u2019t easily control what simply flits across our mental radar screen. \u00a0But we can deny lodging in our minds to thoughts that we judge unworthy or inappropriate.<\/p>\n
