\u201cReligious Freedom Annual Review.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
I was involved in a wedding at the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple today, and with the subsequent luncheon (and the reception tonight), so I only managed to attend two of the conference sessions. \u00a0But they were superb. \u00a0(So was the wedding!)<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
I highly recommend the remarks of Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) from this morning. \u00a0They were very personal and heartfelt at times, referencing (for example) his opposition to Mr. Trump\u2019s campaign proposal to ban Muslim immigration and his experience as one of the targets of the recent attack on the Republican congressional baseball team in the Virginia suburbs of DC.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
I also caught the\u00a0excellent panel at the end of the day on current questions of religious liberty. \u00a0I must say \u2014 especially in view of some very unsatisfying exchanges with critics over the past few days on religious freedom and LGBTQIA issues \u2014 that it\u2019s refreshing and satisfying to listen to intellectually serious<\/em> comments on the subject.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
I know that these sessions were videotaped. \u00a0When I can, I\u2019ll post links to them.<\/p>\n
