There are rumors in the air \u2014 perhaps they\u2019re better founded than mere rumor, but that\u2019s how I\u2019ve been encountering the idea \u2014 that the Supreme Court of the United States will issue a ruling on President Trump\u2019s proposed travel ban very shortly. \u00a0So here\u2019s an item that may or may not be prophetic of how that ruling will go:<\/p>\n

For the record, and for those who may be unaware of it, nineteen scholars of Mormonism<\/a> filed an amici curiae<\/em> brief with the United States Supreme Court in connection with this case. \u00a0I was one of those nineteen signatories. \u00a0You can read the brief, and inspect the list of signers, here:<\/p>\n

In the relevant areas, TWU\u2019s Community Covenant isn\u2019t significantly different from Brigham Young University\u2019s \u201cHonor Code.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0 (I actually prefer the title \u201cCommunity Covenant,\u201d myself.) \u00a0Is the fate of Trinity Western University\u2019s proposed law school a harbinger of things to come in the United States? \u00a0I fear that it may be.<\/p>\n
