Adam<\/em>, and by<\/span><\/p>\n

Adam<\/em> came<\/span><\/p>\n

the fall of man<\/em>.\u00a0 And because of<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus Christ<\/em>, even the Father and the Son; and because of<\/span><\/p>\n

the redemption of man<\/em>, which came by<\/span><\/p>\n

Note not only that Adam<\/em> is linked, rather unsurprisingly, with the fall of man<\/em> and Jesus Christ<\/em> with the redemption of man<\/em>, but that Adam<\/em> is implicitly contrasted with Jesus Christ<\/em> and the fall of man<\/em> juxtaposed with the redemption of man<\/em>.\u00a0 It is a deceptively simple arrangement.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are no surnames in the Old Testament.\u00a0 Similarly, no surnames occur among the personalities mentioned in the Book of Mormon, whose culture purportedly derives, at least to a large extent, from that of the ancient Hebrews.\u00a0 Of course, an ordinarily sensitive reader of the Old Testament would probably have noticed the lack of surnames in it.\u00a0 But how many readers have noticed that the English versions of Old Testament personal names never begin with f<\/em>, and that they never include either q<\/em> or x<\/em> or w<\/em>?\u00a0 Yet personal names in the Book of Mormon likewise never begin with f<\/em>, and they never include either q<\/em> or x<\/em> or w<\/em>.[1]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
