\u201cGerman software company to acquire Utah\u2019s Qualtrics for $8B\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cHow one Utah family built Qualtrics, a tech startup they sold for $8 billion \u2014 $7 billion they get to keep. And they still run the company.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Wow. \u00a0It would take me several entire months<\/em> to earn that kind of money from my work as a money-grubbing mercenary apologist!<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In fact, now that I come to think of it, I\u2019ve been a donor<\/em> to Interpreter.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Something must be wrong with my business model.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

It reminds me of a story that my Dad used to tell, about a farmer who bought a pig at the beginning of the year for a hundred dollars. At the end of the year, he sold the pig, receiving a hundred dollars for it. \u00a0\u201cWhat was the point of that<\/em>?\u201d asked a friend. \u00a0\u201cWell,\u201d the first farmer replied, \u201cI had the use of the pig for an entire year, and at no cost!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

President Dallin H. Oaks told a somewhat similar story in the April 2001 General Conference<\/a> of the Church:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Two men formed a partnership. They built a small shed beside a busy road. They obtained a truck and drove it to a farmer\u2019s field, where they purchased a truckload of melons for a dollar a melon. They drove the loaded truck to their shed by the road, where they sold their melons for a dollar a melon. They drove back to the farmer\u2019s field and bought another truckload of melons for a dollar a melon. Transporting them to the roadside, they again sold them for a dollar a melon. As they drove back toward the farmer\u2019s field to get another load, one partner said to the other, \u201cWe\u2019re not making much money on this business, are we?\u201d \u201cNo, we\u2019re not,\u201d his partner replied. \u201cDo you think we need a bigger truck?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
