\u201cSharing Light with Just One Click\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n At the very least, consider how you might support those who are already engaged in doing so.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n In that light, of course, I would be very remiss in my responsibilities if I didn\u2019t point out one really obvious and easy way to be supportive of such efforts:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Donating to the Interpreter Foundation<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n And then there\u2019s AmazonSmile. \u00a0Even easier<\/em>. \u00a0It won\u2019t count as a charitable donation on your tax returns, because the money that is given by AmazonSmile isn\u2019t actually yours. \u00a0It\u2019s Amazon\u2019s. \u00a0(That\u2019s why it costs you absolutely nothing<\/em>.) \u00a0And, in a sense, it doesn\u2019t yield a huge amount. \u00a0Amazon.com will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products \u2014 that\u2019s half a cent for every dollar that you spend through AmazonSmile \u2014 to the charitable organization of your choice, whether that group be the Interpreter Foundation or some other worthy cause:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cHow to use Amazon Smile to Make Donation\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n I say that the amounts yielded for charitable causes aren\u2019t huge. \u00a0And that\u2019s true, in a sense. \u00a0If you spend $100 through AmazonSmile, your chosen charity will receive fifty cents from Amazon. \u00a0But imagine if lots and lots of people signed up for AmazonSmile and made substantial purchases through it. \u00a0The cumulative amount could be considerable. \u00a0If, for example \u2014 I can dream, can\u2019t I? \u2014 each and every one of the roughly 330 million people in the United States signed up for Amazon.com and designated the Interpreter Foundation as their charity of choice, and if every single one of them spent $100 dollars over the next month for Christmas gifts through Amazon.com, that would yield $165 million \u2014 very nearly enough to cover my annual salary as chairman of the Foundation!<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n ***<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n And now, switching gears just a bit: \u00a0Are you thinking about what to buy your friends and loved ones for Christmas? \u00a0Look no further! \u00a0Here<\/a> are some excellent suggestions for the readers in your life:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n
