I share with you some news from the world of science that\u2019s recently caught my eye:<\/p>\n

A pretty dramatic headline:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Earth Is Eating Its Own Oceans\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

But this one is perhaps even more<\/em> dramatic. \u00a0Nice to visit, but I wouldn\u2019t want to live there:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNaples volcano heading for \u2018large volume eruption\u2019: It\u2019s been quiet since 1538 CE, but the Campi Flegrei may be revving up.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

If only all that ice weren\u2019t in the way!<\/p>\n

Here are two stories about some recent research that seems to indicate that Neanderthals lived no closer to vicious apologists like myself than did proto-humans:<\/p>\n

\u201cSkull damage suggests Neandertals led no more violent lives than humans: Some 200 skulls show similar rates of damage between humans and our evolutionary cousins\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSkulls reveal Neanderthals, humans had similarly harsh lives\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I must say that I wasn\u2019t very happy to see the author take a nasty swipe at James Damore<\/a>, who has already been severely punished for daring to diverge from elite leftist dogma about diversity. \u00a0But I was very pleased at the opportunity to learn something about the cousin<\/a> of Sacha Baron Cohen<\/a>.<\/p>\n
