My wife and I met\u00a0Jake Mangakahia at Church in Sydney last weekend, where we had a nice and fairly long conversation with him. \u00a0He\u2019s an impressive fellow, and we didn\u2019t even get to see him dance. \u00a0(The final performance of Spartacus<\/em> had concluded the night before. \u00a0If we had known about it, and had known that he was in it, we would have made every effort to be there.)<\/p>\n

The late Christopher Hitchens repeated and publicly insisted that \u201creligion poisons everything.\u201d \u00a0(I\u2019m quite confident, and I think that my atheist friends would agree with me on this, that he no longer holds that view.) \u00a0He was, of course, quite wrong, and demonstrably so. \u00a0Here, in fact, is yet another demonstration to that effect that recently appeared:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cStudy: Religious Childhood Linked to Healthier, Happier Adulthood:\u00a0A study found that people who attended religious services or prayed regularly during their upbringing were happier in early adulthood.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
