Some are still curious to know when I\u2019m speaking in Poway, here in the greater San Diego area. \u00a0So I\u2019m providing a schedule:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tonight \u2014 at 7 PM, on Thursday, 11 April \u2014 I\u2019m participating in an interfaith panel on the Tabernacle of Moses with a Jewish cantor, a representative of the Muslim community, a Catholic priest, and a Protestant pastor. \u00a0The title for\u00a0the panel is \u201cWhat the Moses Tabernacle Means to Us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tomorrow night \u2014 on\u00a0Friday, 12 April, at 7 PM\u00a0\u2014\u00a0I\u2019m speaking on the subject\u00a0\u201cThe Significance of Moses\u2019 Tabernacle to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints<\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Saturday night \u2014 13 April, at 7 PM\u00a0\u2014\u00a0I\u2019ll be speaking for about half an hour to youth of the sponsoring stake on the subject of\u00a0\u201cSacrifice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All of these things will take place at the Poway California Stake Center, which is located at 15759 Bernardo Heights Parkway, San Diego, CA 92128.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everything is being done in connection with the display of a full-scale reproduction of the ancient Tabernacle of Moses, which has been erected adjacent to the Stake Center. \u00a0It has been open for public visits \u2014 at no charge \u2014 since Monday. \u00a0It will be open today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) from 3 PM until 6:30 PM. \u00a0On Saturday, it will be open to the public from 9 AM until 3 PM. \u00a0After being closed on Sunday, it will again be open to the public from Monday (15 April) through Thursday (18 April), between the hours of 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think it safe to say that BYU has become one of the premiere places in North America for the study and teaching of the Arabic language. \u00a0I can say this without boasting because I claim no role, not even an insignificant one, in that success, which I attribute rather to the talents and efforts of my now recently-retired friend and colleague Dilworth Parkinson<\/a> (who is currently serving a humanitarian mission in Jordan with his wife), as well as to my colleague and friend Kirk Belnap<\/a>. \u00a0They are now being ably supported by such fine teachers as Spencer Scoville, Kevin Blankinshipp, and Ahmed Karout. \u00a0(See here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n
