\u201cDNA Helps Solve a Historical Question about Joseph Smith\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n ***<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n I liked the short videos that accompany these stories:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n From Japan: \u00a0\u201cAt Global Faith Forum, Apostle Shares Seven Ways Religions Can Help Society Prosper:\u00a0Elder Gong and Sister Eubank share Latter-day Saint perspectives on promoting peace, strengthening human dignity and caring for the planet\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n This one may prove to be quite significant:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n From the Persian Gulf: \u00a0\u201cApostle Thanks State of Kuwait for Formally Recognizing the Church:\u00a0Elder Cook and his wife, Mary, greet Mr. Fareed Emadi in Kuwait City\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n ***<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n My wife and I have been gone in the Middle East and England for the past six weeks, and we leave the country again very shortly. \u00a0So we had a couple of meetings at our house today regarding the Witnesses<\/em> film project<\/a> that is moving forward under the aegis of the Interpreter Foundation<\/a>, which I have the privilege and honor to head.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Progress is being made regarding potential filming locations in eastern Canada and western Massachusetts, as well as in a couple of places in Utah. \u00a0We have a newly revised version of the script in hand, to which I devoted part of today. \u00a0(I\u2019m liking it more and more.) \u00a0We\u2019re very close to meeting our funding goal for the next phase of production.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n I\u2019m gratified. \u00a0I wish I were around a bit more these days in order to help, and I\u2019m sad that some of the filming back east will probably be done in September, when my teaching schedule won\u2019t permit me to be there. \u00a0Still, though, matters are proceeding quite nicely.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Our website hasn\u2019t changed much yet, but there is one item that I would like you to notice.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Some of my critics have made merry over the project. \u00a0\u201cAfter all,\u201d they laugh, \u201cwhat does Peterson know about making movies?\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n But, of course, I<\/em> won\u2019t be the person principally making the film. \u00a0I have friends and associates who are professionals<\/em> at making films. \u00a0And a relevant new feature has now been added to the film\u2019s promotional website<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Scroll down on the site to the area marked \u201cProduction Team\u201d and then locate the logo for \u201cRed Brick Film Works.\u201d \u00a0Click on that logo and sit back and get some sense of the quality of work that our team has done and that it will do on the Witnesses<\/em> project.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n I\u2019m very excited.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n If you would like to help us with this effort, we would welcome your contribution:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n
