Films are uniquely powerful tools of communication and influence, but film-making is expensive. \u00a0The basic cost of even our Witnesses<\/em> film project<\/a>, according to the budget meticulously prepared by our producer (who was making every effort to keep it low), comes out to 1.2 million dollars.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I\u2019m pleased to say that we\u2019ve now raised $950,000 of that amount, and that we have a firm pledge that would\u00a0complete<\/em> that funding. \u00a0But that pledge will only materialize when we first reach one million dollars.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, that leaves us, at this point, $50,000 short of where we want to be.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

So \u2014 and you surely knew this was coming! \u2014 if you feel the urge to contribute to closing that gap, your donation (in any amount, small or large) would be appreciated. \u00a0Seriously. \u00a0(Please indicate that you want your donation to go to the Witnesses<\/em> film, if that is your intention.) \u00a0Alternatively, if you can recommend anybody who might be able to help, please contact me.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s actually possible that we\u2019ll need to raise a bit more than the $1.2 million that we had budgeted \u2014 a few expenses (notably charges at distant film locations) came in surprisingly high, for example, and we\u2019ve somewhat expanded our vision of what we want to do with materials to supplement<\/em> the film(s) proper \u2014 but we\u2019re very close.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

And, again, to \u00a0respond to potential concerns: \u00a0None of this money, not a penny of it, will come to me or to any member of my family. \u00a0I will earn no consulting fee, no percentage of the money raised, no portion of possible royalties. \u00a0Nothing. \u00a0(A small clique of anonymous online critics likes to accuse me, baselessly but with gleeful abandon, of profiteering from apologetics. \u00a0See Revelation 22:15.)<\/p>\n
