It\u00a0does not insist on its own way; it\u00a0is not irritable or resentful;<span class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-ESV-28654b\" data-link='[&lt;a href=\"#fen-ESV-28654b\" title=\"See footnote b\"&gt;b&lt;\/a&gt;]'>[<a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"See footnote b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Corinthians+13&amp;version=ESV#fen-ESV-28654b\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">b<\/a>]<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28655\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-6\"><span class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/span>it\u00a0does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but\u00a0rejoices with the truth.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28656\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-7\"><span class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/span>Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,\u00a0endures all things.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span id=\"en-ESV-28657\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-8\"><span class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/span>Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28658\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-9\"><span class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/span>For\u00a0we know in part and we prophesy in part,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28659\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-10\"><span class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/span>but\u00a0when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-28660\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-11\"><span class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/span>When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-28661\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-12\"><span class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/span>For\u00a0now we see in a mirror dimly, but\u00a0then face to face. A native of British Columbia, she is married to the philosopher, Paul Churchland. Together, the Churchlands are associated with the position called \u201celiminative materialism,\u201d which claims that our everyday \u201cfolk psychology\u201d concepts, like love, ought to be eliminated in favor of neuroscientific concepts, like oxytocin levels. Discussing morality, Churchland writes: \u201cEvolution sets the brain\u2019s style of drives and emotions.
