I rejoice every time a new temple is dedicated. \u00a0Each new temple seems to me to represent one more toehold of Zion in Babylon, one more victory for the Lord over Satan, one more extension of the Kingdom of God, one more step on the road to the Millennium, one more advance toward the salvation of humankind.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

We completed a temple in Kirtland and in Nauvoo; and did not the bells of hell toll the time we were building them? They did, every week and every day. . . . \u00a0Do not pay Tithing, unless you want to; do not help to build up this Temple unless you want to; do not put forth your hands to one day\u2019s work, unless you want to. . . . \u00a0If you grudgingly put forth your means to help to gather the Saints, it will be a curse to you; it will mildew, and every effort you make will wither in your possession. . . . If you wish this Temple built, go to work and do all you can this season. Some say, \u201cI do not like to do it, for we never began to build a Temple without the bells of hell beginning to ring.\u201d I want to hear them ring again. \u00a0(<\/span>Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses<\/em> 8:355-356)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

All the angels in heaven are looking at this little handful of people and stimulating them to the salvation of the human family. So also are the devils in hell looking at this people, too, and trying to overthrow us, and the people are still shaking hands with the servants of the devil, instead of sanctifying themselves and calling upon the Lord and doing the work which he has commanded us and put into our hands to do. When I was thinking upon this subject, I want the tongues of seven thunders to wake up the people (Discourses of Brigham Yong<\/em>, pages 403-404).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Every foundation stone that is laid for a temple, and every temple completed according to the order of the Lord has revealed for His holy priesthood, lessens the power of Satan on the earth, and increases the power of God and godliness, moves the heavens in mighty power in our behalf, invokes and calls down upon us the blessings of eternal gods, and those who reside in the presence.
