Unusually for a Monday, here\u2019s the announcement of an article \u2014 this one by the late Matthew B. Brown \u2014 appearing in Interpreter: A Journal of Latter-day Saint Faith and Scholarship<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cCube, Gate, and Measuring Tools: A Biblical Pattern\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Abstract:<\/strong> This article explores the biblical pattern that relates the temple-related symbols of the cube, the gate, and measuring tools. The tools of architecture and measurement were associated with the kingship motifs of creation and conquering chaos, and on the day when a person was initiated as a king in ancient Israel, all of these concepts were applied to him.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The Interpreter Foundation is pleased to\u00a0announce that Jeffrey Dean Lindsay, who has recently returned to the United\u00a0States after almost nine\u00a0years in Shanghai, China, has agreed to join its Board\u00a0of Trustees as a vice president.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jeff has been providing online materials\u00a0defending the history, doctrine, and scriptures of The Church of Jesus Christ\u00a0of Latter-day Saints for\u00a0more than twenty years, at\u00a0JeffLindsay.com<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0http:\/\/mormanity.blogspot.com<\/span><\/a>\u00a0but\u00a0also as a highly productive contributor to\u00a0Interpreter:\u00a0A\u00a0Journal of Latter-day Saint Faith and Scholarship.<\/span><\/p>\n

After serving in the\u00a0German-speaking Switzerland Zurich Mission, he went on to earn a doctorate in\u00a0chemical engineering from Brigham\u00a0Young University. A US patent agent, he\u00a0currently oversees research and development and intellectual property for a US\u00a0consumer-product\u00a0startup, Lume Deodorant. In China he was in charge of\u00a0intellectual property for Asia Pulp and Paper, one of the world\u2019s largest\u00a0forest-product\u00a0companies. Since 2015, Jeff has been recognized as a leading IP\u00a0strategist by\u00a0IAM<\/em>\u00a0(Intellectual Asset\u00a0Magazine), based on peer input. He is\u00a0also lead author of\u00a0Conquering Innovation Fatigue<\/em>\u00a0(John Wiley & Sons,\u00a02009).<\/span><\/p>\n

He and his wife Kendra\u00a0are the parents of four boys and have eleven grandchildren.<\/span><\/p>\n
