Ain\u2019t nothing to do in this boring-*** city,\u201d Barkley said in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh my gosh,\u201d O\u2019Neal said in reply laughing and then added, \u201cI never ate so much room service in my life.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I\u2019m guessing that neither of them went hiking or skiing in the mountains nearby.\u00a0 I\u2019m pretty sure that I didn\u2019t see them at the performance of Mendelssohn\u2019s <em>Elijah<\/em> by the Tabernacle Choir and the Utah Symphony.\u00a0 And I\u2019m reasonably certain that Shaq, busy with his room service chow, wasn\u2019t down helping out at the Utah Bishops\u2019 Central Storehouse:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org\/article\/nba-church-jesus-christ-service-project\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cA Slam Dunk of a Service Project: The NBA and the Church of Jesus Christ Feed the Hungry: Players and other volunteers assemble thousands of food and hygiene kits for friends in need throughout Utah\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan\u2019t smoke, can\u2019t drink,\u201d Barkley said.\u00a0 Apparently, for him, it\u2019s smoking and drinking and bars that make a place interesting and worth seeing.\u00a0 And at least some of those responding to Shaq and Sir Charles seem to share that premise.\u00a0 (See <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/02\/21\/utah-senator-hits-back-after-shaq-charles-barkley-rip-salt-lake-city\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cUtah senator fires back after Shaq, Charles Barkley rip \u2018boring ass\u2019 Salt Lake City.\u201d<\/a>)\u00a0 Here, though, is a <em>better<\/em> response:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deseret.com\/opinion\/2023\/2\/21\/23609314\/shaquille-oneal-charles-barkley-call-utah-boring\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cOpinion: Shaq and Barkley think we\u2019re boring. Who cares?\u00a0 Stereotypes about Utah are as immovable as the mountains, and yet the place keeps growing and prospering.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Personally, I\u2019m quite content if some people who require alcohol and tobacco for happiness decide that Salt Lake City and Utah don\u2019t interest them.\u00a0 I would prefer that they not move to my adopted home state;
