President Obama renews call for stricter gun control laws after California shooting

President Obama renews call for stricter gun control laws after California shooting December 2, 2015

In what has almost become a weekly address for President Obama, he once again had to address the nation when discussing yet another senseless mass shooting that has now cost at least 14 people their lives and left at least 14 more injured in San Bernardino, California, Wedsnday morning.

While he said we do not know the shooter’s motives at this time we congress can act to help curb future mass shootings in America.

“What we do know is that there are steps we can take to make Americans safer and that we should come together on a bipartisan basis at every level of government to make these rare as opposed to normal,” he said.

“We should never think that this is something that just happens in the ordinary course of events, ’cause it doesn’t happen with the same frequency in other countries,” he added.

The interview was taking place on CBS as the shooter situation was unfolding and no casualty reports had come in at that time.
