One of the world\u2019s most effective arguments against Christianity is the argument that all of the world\u2019s religions \u201care the same,\u201d and thus it just doesn\u2019t matter what you believe.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
In this age of great tolerance, the one thing we don\u2019t tolerate is the the possiblity that one belief trumps another.\n

How can truth be grey?<\/p><\/div>\n

\nGo on the Internet and you\u2019ll find rankings of everything \u2013 doctors, schools, books, and businesses. Restuarnats are voted on, movies are given thumbs up, and neighborhoods are ranked.\u00a0<\/span>

<\/span>
But we seem to shy away from belief.<\/span>
To say that one idea is true and the others false is\u00a0<\/span>anathema<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>
we evaluate doctors, schools, political ideas, movies, food, books, business, art \u2013 everything else.\u00a0 But the idea of actually saying that \u201cI\u2019ve seriously evaluated the options and have come to the conclusion that _______ is the one true faith\u201d pretty much makes you a crazy person.\u00a0 Perhaps it\u2019s because we live under the threat of radical Islam.\u00a0 Most people don\u2019t commit violence over evaluating a piece of art; but religion?\u00a0 We\u2019re scared to death of offending someone.\u00a0 But the truth is, what could be more important than coming to terms with the biggest questions?\u00a0 Who am I?\u00a0 Where did I come from?\u00a0 Why am I here?\u00a0 Is there a God out there?<\/span>\n<\/div>\n
Plus, I\u2019m tired of the lame idea that being confident that you\u2019re right, means you hold everyone else in contempt.\u00a0 Once again, we don\u2019t feel that way when we express our opinions about anything else.<\/span><\/div>\n
That\u2019s why I think it\u2019s time for a serious, honest, and civil discussion about religious faith.<\/span><\/div>\n
So let\u2019s do this: Ask your Facebook friends, re-tweet, and blog the question.\u00a0 Then do the same with your answer.\u00a0 (No one-word answers. We want to know why you believe what you do.)\u00a0 Let\u2019s start a global conversation that points out the hypocrisy of expressing everything but our true feelings about faith.<\/span><\/div>\n
