Think of the spiral of a <a href=\"http:\/\/goddesschess.com\/graphics\/image19.gif\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">sea shell<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0the Egyptian pyramids. Certain faces on people seem to have the perfect dimensions. Some designs seem so perfect. And why are some faces so perfect?<u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span>Interestingly, beauty can actually be mathematically equated to 1:1.6. This ratio is calculated by using a series of numbers called the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fibonacci_number\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Fibonacci number\" class=\" decorated-link\">Fibonacci sequence<\/a>, or the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Golden_ratio\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Golden Ratio.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span>It\u2019s sequence looks like this: 1,2,3,5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span><i>(Stay with me here)<\/i> Each number is calculated by adding the previous two numbers. 3+5 = 8. 5+8 = 13 and so on. Take each number, and divide it by the previous number and you get 1.618, or PHI\u00a0 (<b>\u00a0<span lang=\"EN\">\u03c6<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN\">).<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/mail.google.com\/mail\/?ui=2&amp;ik=47db2d25b8&amp;view=att&amp;th=136130df86f65336&amp;attid=0.1&amp;disp=emb&amp;zw&amp;atsh=1\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"123px\" src=\"https:\/\/mail.google.com\/mail\/?ui=2&amp;ik=47db2d25b8&amp;view=att&amp;th=136130df86f65336&amp;attid=0.1&amp;disp=emb&amp;zw&amp;atsh=1\" width=\"122px\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div><span><span lang=\"EN\">It\u2019s a common mathematical principle, appearing extensively in geometric forms.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span><span lang=\"EN\"><strong>Amazingly, you see the <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathworld.wolfram.com\/GoldenRatio.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Golden Ratio<\/strong><\/a><strong> appear in many of the things that please our eyes.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span>Here is how it looks in nature:<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>A pineapple has three arms of 5, 8, and 13<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span><br><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/worldtruth.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/golden-ratio-DNA.gif\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"129px\" src=\"https:\/\/worldtruth.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/golden-ratio-DNA.gif\" width=\"200px\"><\/a><span>The head of a daisy has two spirals that extend from the center. One has 21, while the other has 34<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div><span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<span>Look at the human body. One nose, two eyes, three segments to each limb and five fingers on each hand. It\u2019s a pattern of beauty.<\/span><br><span><br><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div><span>Even the DNA molecule is proportionately beautiful, measuring 21 x 34<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/nanobioart.com\/nanolab\/files\/2010\/06\/GoldenSectionDemo.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"200px\" src=\"https:\/\/nanobioart.com\/nanolab\/files\/2010\/06\/GoldenSectionDemo.jpg\" width=\"131px\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><span>The Golden Ratio is used extensively in many things and is the guide for the perception of beauty. \u00a0Throughout time, people have sought to use the Golden Ratio in a variety of things like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goldennumber.net\/music.htm\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">music<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/net.tutsplus.com\/tutorials\/other\/the-golden-ratio-in-web-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">design<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/jwilson.coe.uga.edu\/emat6680\/parveen\/gr_in_art.htm\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">art<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/milan.milanovic.org\/math\/english\/golden\/golden4.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">architecture<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=bUARfgWRH14C&amp;pg=PA197&amp;lpg=PA197&amp;dq=the+golden+ratio+in+poetry&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=APOclWEiDn&amp;sig=g_Tfukr-fxzWL6-PNyQJrGkoEpo&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ei=mY1hT5-LJ6X42gWk2fTMCA&amp;ved=0CHIQ6AEwDDgK#v=onepage&amp;q=the%20golden%20ratio%20in%20poetry&amp;f=false\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">poetry<\/a>. Even the famous Mona Lisa\u2019s face is perfectly proportionate according to the ratio. In architecture, the\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u>Notre Dame<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u>Castle<u><\/u><u><\/u>, The United Nations Building, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goldennumber.net\/images\/tajmahal1.gif\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Taj Mahal<\/a> and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=37.97025,23.7224694444&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=37.97025,23.7224694444%20(Parthenon)&amp;t=h\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Parthenon\" class=\" decorated-link\">Parthenon<\/a> all share the Golden Ratio. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YVODhFLe0mw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Donald Duck <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/paulmmartinblog.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/18\/apple-and-the-golden-ratio\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Apple<\/a> have relied on it\u2019s form.<u><\/u><\/span>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span>It\u2019s in every day items, like the size of a postcard or the placement of a <a href=\"http:\/\/jwilson.coe.uga.edu\/emat6680\/parveen\/gr_in_art.htm\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">knob<\/a> on a door.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<span><u><\/u><\/span><span><u><\/u><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div><span>We are somehow, <strong>intrinsically drawn<\/strong> to such beautiful things. Even body shapes and faces in this proportion are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oprah.com\/oprahshow\/Measuring-Facial-Perfection-The-Golden-Ratio\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">deemed<\/a> more beautiful and desirable.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span>This no accident. Evolution doesn\u2019t repeat this pattern all on it\u2019s own. God created beauty and he created us to appreciate beauty.\u00a0 In this huge world, full of variables and uncertainty, there\u2019s an order. There\u2019s a divine elegance that flows throughout our world.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><b><i><br><\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div><span><b><i>No wonder we are amazed. <\/i><\/b>\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span>Just when I have it all figured, God finds a way to inject Grace. He created all of this beauty for me, but then He gravitates toward the things that are different. What I call beautiful, he disregards. \u00a0He is close to the brokenhearted and <a href=\"http:\/\/bible.cc\/psalms\/34-18.htm\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">saves<\/a> those that are crushed. The things that are disproportionate, broken and displeasing to the eye are most close His heart.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span><span><i>\u201cHe has made everything beautiful in its time.
