I watched stiff businessmen bristle, then smile. I saw homeless people, who so yearn for human touch, pull away, then lean into their charm. I saw an entire block change because of the free joy from eight young people.<\/div>\n

I could have crossed over to the other side of the stree, but they made a bee-line for me and I didn\u2019t run. Middle age men flinch at such affection, unsure of prevailing laws and attitudes. But they didn\u2019t care. One hugged my back and one each hugged my shoulders. It was three seconds and they shouted out to the next lucky person. \u201cFree Hugs.\u201d <\/div>\n

I went back to my office a changed man, even for a day.<\/div>\n
