If only I had a little more money,
\u00a0 I could make a difference.
If only I had a little more talent,
\u00a0 I could really write things that would impact lives.
If only I had a little more time,
\u00a0 I could spend more time with the hurting.
If only I had better looks,
\u00a0 I could be more confident.
If only I lived in a different location, I
\u00a0 could be involved in my community.<\/p>\n

If only\u2026<\/em><\/div>\n

I\u2019ve used them all. All the \u201cif onlys\u201d in the book. It seems\u00a0I never have enough to the things that need to be done. Excuses thrown against the wall.<\/div>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n
\n\u201cIf only I had more, think of what I could do.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 But since I don\u2019t, I quit, or give of myself half-heartedly, convinced that I don\u2019t have what it takes. And the latent resentment that builds, thinking I\u2019ve been ripped off, thinking of all I\u00a0don\u2019t have, \u00a0instead of what I do.<\/div>\n

The talented awe me. They sing effortlessly, write flawlessly, speak convincingly. If only<\/strong> I had that talent.\u00a0 I\u2019m like the sap who just had a single talent and\u00a0buried it in his yard, afraid it would be lost or stolen. Instead, it went unused which is a worse crime.<\/p>\n

How much time do I spend, thinking about what I could do, if only<\/strong>? What if my energies were\u00a0 spent appreciating, cultivating and using what meager abilities I have.<\/p>\n

Do I really want my unspoken epitaph to be, \u201che was afraid<\/strong>?\u201d Or do I want it to be, \u201cwell done, good and faithful servant. You\u2019ve been faithful with a few things, so I will put you in charge of many<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Could it be, the reason I don\u2019t have more is because I haven\u2019t been content with less?<\/strong><\/p>\n
