If you\u2019re human, you will have some sort of trial come your way. It\u2019s a guarantee. You may lose a job, have a spouse walk away from you, or contract a life-threatening disease. There are smaller trials \u2013 like an\u00a0<\/span>unrelenting<\/span>\u00a0boss, a rebellious child, or a\u00a0<\/span>financial<\/span>\u00a0loss \u2013 that are no less\u00a0<\/span>trying<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday, I started a post called, \u201cDon\u2019t Waste Your Trial.<\/a>\u201d <\/b>And there\u2019s more to be said.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
We\u2019re really not supposed to buckle in and wait for the wild ride to end. We are meant to embrace our trial and actually benefit from it.\n

<\/p><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
I wrote about three principles \n<\/b>

<\/p><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\nYou will waste your trial is you believe it is a curse, and not a gift.<\/span><\/b>\n

<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

\nYou waste your trial if you fail to rejoice<\/span><\/b>\n

<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

\nYou will waste your trial if you seek comfort from your odds rather than from God.<\/span><\/b>\n

<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Here are three more:\n

<\/div>\n
You will waste your trial is you spend too much time analyzing the situation \u00a0trial and not enough time knowing more about God<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It\u2019s not wrong to research career opportunities if you are unemployed. It\u2019s not wrong to read about that blood disease. It\u2019s not wrong to read about the walk-away spouse, to visit with people and get their opinions. But it is wrong to spend too much time in head knowledge, and not enough time in heart repair.\n

<\/p><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n
\nYour trial is meant to awaken you to the reality of God.\u00a0 This is your chance \u2014 finally \u2014 to clear your head and figure out Jesus and get to know him fully<\/span>\n

<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\nYou will waste your trial if you endure it alone.<\/span><\/b>\n

<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\nWe are mortified that others will discover our scars, our open wounds. We usually hide them \u2014 and try to make a go of it alone.\u00a0<\/span>Your need gives others an opportunity to respond. How many times have you heard about someone who has been sick, or who lost a loved one, or who has a relationship on the rocks, and it\u2019s been weeks or months since it\u2019s happened. You feel crushed. You could have helped.\n<\/i>

<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u00a0In your\u00a0trial, you will need your brothers and sisters\u00a0to walk with you, to live out their faith beside you, to love you. And one day, you can do same\u00a0to them.\n

<\/p><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u00a0You will waste your trial if you fail to use it as a pointer to God\u2019s truth\n

<\/p><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\n\u201cThey will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name\u2019s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness to truth.\u201d (Luke\u00a021:12\u00a0-13).<\/span><\/i>\n

<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\nSo it is with cancer or job loss or emotional loss.\u00a0There is a golden opportunity to show there are things more important<\/b> than life on this earth. Don\u2019t let them slip by.<\/span>\n

<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n
