I just read an amazing rescue story about a\u00a0three-year old girl who dialed 911 when her mother collapsed.\u00a0 Her mother had been ill for a few days and eventually collapsed with no other adult on hand to assist.\u00a0 \n

The little girl had\u00a0learned about the 911 system in daycare and remembered what to do. She even let\u00a0paramedics in the house when they arrived.\u00a0Rightly so, she\u2019s now lauded as a hero.

Last week in our\u00a0bible study group, we discussed watching over each other in such a way that if we were headed for a bad situation our believing friends would step in and let us know we are up to no good.\u00a0 <\/div>\n

That\u2019s the essence of community. When we are weak and falter, arms are there to hold us up.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

But being big and strong Americans,\u00a0self-made and sufficient, we don\u2019t need anyone else. \u00a0We think we can take care of ourselves. So, we\u00a0just push through whatever ails our sickly souls because we\u2019re too proud, too strong, too blind to simply ask for help. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
When we know we\u2019re on a fast track to sin who do we call?\u00a0 Too often we call those key people without strong moral walls.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 To gain some sort of twisted approval of course!\u00a0 These are those \u201ctrue\u201d friends who only want us to be happy\u2026right?\u00a0 We all deserve happiness\u2026right?\u00a0 Wouldn\u2019t faith be easy if we got to do everything that made us\u00a0happy<\/i>?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Faith can be hard.\u00a0The right road can sometimes be a lonely uphill climb with the thought of a happy eternity our only solace.\u00a0 Look at poor Job.\u00a0 He lived his entire life struggling and asking God, \u201cWill life ever be easy?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 It never was for him.\u00a0 Life with God at the forefront brought him to his knees, his moment of total surrender.\n<\/p><\/div>\n

In your weakest moment, the moment you fall to your knees, who will dial 911 for you?\u00a0 And do you trust that person to\u00a0open the door when you know rescue is on the other side?\u00a0\n
