I\u2019m about 3\/4 of the way the <\/span>Bruce Wilkinson<\/span><\/a> book, \u201c<\/span>You Were Born for This.\u201d<\/span><\/a> Wilkinson, of \u201c<\/span>Prayer of Jabez<\/span><\/i>\u201d fame, writes in ways that force you to think outside of your own personal Christian experience and to \u2018push God\u2019s limits,\u2019 so to speak.<\/span><\/p>\n

The premise in this book is that as Christians, we are often too content to wait and watch for God\u2019s miracles. We believe Him to be capable of anything \u2013 as long as it doesn\u2019t inconvenience us. Instead, Wilkinson provides a compelling argument for you and I as \u201cdelivery agents\u201d for these miracles. <\/span><\/p>\n

When we see need \u2013 and it\u2019s all around us \u2013 what do we do? Do we pray and hope that God does something, or do we roll up our sleeves and actually make things happen. He is always ready to bless, to change situations and is waiting for us to deliver the goods.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the New Year, I am reevaluating my life. Who knows what changes will come and I might be the one in need of some of those miracles. <\/span><\/p>\n

But am I willing to be God\u2019s vessel? What about my workplace? Do I expect God to do things and am I willing to be obedient? What about my home, my neighborhood or my town?<\/span><\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t a book that falls on either side of the \u201csigns and wonders<\/a>\u201d argument. It morphs all those arguments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wilkerson proposes a change in our language. Instead of asking, \u201cHow are you doing?\u201d<\/i> ask, \u201cWhat can I do for you?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

The results might be a challenge to our private time, our finances and our ordered world. But they might just launch us into a whole new exciting world, one that we born for.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n
