An amazing \u2013 and perhaps unprecedented \u2013 story<\/a> occurred in <\/span>Philadelphia<\/span>. Rob Fensermaker, a liquor store worker, said his boss gave him the \u201cultimate gift\u201d when he decided to give him one of his kidneys.
<\/span>
The boss, Brian DeAngelis, stands alone in the world of supervision, where most of his peers can barely peep a hello or a thank you. Many struggle to give a word of encouragement or <\/span>grant a day off. It\u2019s the rare boss who is genuinely concerned about a personal condition. And I\u2019ve never heard of such a sacrifice.<\/span>

<\/span>But it seems that someone has actually one upped DeAngelis.
<\/span>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n<\/a>\n<\/div>\n
\nJoshua Phipps, an employee at the <\/span>Houston<\/span>, <\/span>TX<\/span>, <\/span>Methodist<\/span> <\/span>Hospital<\/span> <\/span>Methodist<\/span> <\/span>Hospital<\/span> gave<\/a> his boss<\/i> a kidney.<\/span>
<\/span>\n<\/div>\n

He wasn\u2019t looking for kudos, despite called the \u201cultimate suck-up.\u201d<\/span>

<\/span><\/p>\n

\nHis boss, Charlie Ward, was \u201cstunned\u201d by the offer, which shortened the normal multi-year wait to work his way to the top of the list. The donation saved four hours a day of dialysis.
<\/span>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI told him several times, \u2018You don\u2019t have to do this,\u2019 \u201d said Ward. <\/span>Indeed, he didn\u2019t.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhat would I do if my boss needed my kidney and I was a match? How would I base my decision? <\/span>Would the Red Letters of Jesus break through my selfishness?<\/span>
<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span>
\u201cGive to the person who asks you for something, and do not turn away from the person who wants to borrow something from you.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n
\nWould I justify my indecision because I was overlooked, underappreciated, and underpaid?
<\/span>\u201cAnd whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.\u201d
<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>What about that slight? That nasty thing he said to me? The way he embarrassed me.<\/span>
<\/span>\u201cWhoever slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other to him as well.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>
