The Hollywood God is an elderly gentleman who smiles at us, pats us on the back, and gives us our allowance. He doesn\u2019t ask for anything in return.<\/p>\n

We judge God. We presume who is should be. When He doesn\u2019t meet up to our expectations of what He should do, we judge Him. When He doesn\u2019t act like we think He should, we turn our backs on Him. we throw our hands up in disbelief \u2013 and retreat to the skeptic\u2019s corner. We do our own thing.<\/p>\n

We have a preconceived notion of his nature.<\/p>\n

No wonder when we read the Bible we squirm when we see God also hates<\/a>. God judges.<\/a> God divides<\/a>. God destroys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In Joshua 10.11<\/a> we are treated to God hurling hailstones on the Amorites<\/a> as they were pursued by the Israelites. In other instances He unleashed plagues and death and destruction.<\/p>\n

And this isn\u2019t just an Old Testament<\/a> God. To think He is all about love is just wrong. He is righting wrongs in ways we simply don\u2019t think imaginable.<\/p>\n
