\u201cGod is Good.\u2019<\/strong><\/em>
<\/strong>\u201cGod is Love\u201d<\/strong><\/em>
<\/strong>\u201cGod is Light\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

You\u2019ve heard these expressions from the time you were a wee child. From these images, we\u2019ve imagined the Almighty as the grandfather we never had.<\/p>\n

No wonder, when asked about eternity, eight out of 10 Americans will answer that God will reward them for being good.

\u201cHe wouldn\u2019t send me to Hell, would He?\u201d<\/em>
\u201cI\u2019m basically good.\u201d<\/em>
\u201cI don\u2019t try to be bad.\u201d<\/em>
\u201cInside, I\u2019m pretty decent.\u201d<\/em>
<\/em>
And so on the deceit continues. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

But we cannot let our view of what God should be, often garnered from Hollywood, interfere with who God is.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood God is an elderly gentleman who smiles at us, pats us on the back, and gives us our allowance. He doesn\u2019t ask for anything in return.<\/p>\n
