{"id":59,"date":"2012-12-17T06:27:00","date_gmt":"2012-12-17T13:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/69.195.124.95\/~redletu4\/who-can-i-blame\/"},"modified":"2012-12-17T06:27:00","modified_gmt":"2012-12-17T13:27:00","slug":"who-can-i-blame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/davidrupert\/who-can-i-blame\/","title":{"rendered":"Who can I blame?"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><div>\n<div>\n<span><b>When things go wrong, often the first response is to root out responsibility.<\/b><\/span><br><span><b>It happens in my workplace, and probably yours too.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><br><span><b>\u201cWho dropped <\/b><\/span><span><b>the ball?\u201d\u00a0<\/b><\/span><br><span><b>\u00a0While proper accountability is an important part of most organizations, we often <\/b><\/span><span><b>get tripped up looking for the guilty party instead of actually fixing the problem.<\/b><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div><span><b>There is little to be gained by engaging in the unnecessary criticism of your predecessor or coworkers.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<span><b>Ultimately, it doesn\u2019t matter whose <\/b><\/span><span><b><i>fault <\/i><\/b><\/span><span><b>it is. What matters is whose <\/b><\/span><span><b><i>responsibility<\/i><\/b><\/span><span><b> it is. <\/b><\/span><span><b>The problem isn\u2019t \u201ctheirs\u201d \u2013 it\u2019s \u201cours.\u201d <\/b><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div><span><b><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<b>\u00a0<span>We live in a world that thrives on finding mistakes instead of creating solutions.
