There are plenty of people who are just floating in life, looking for a place to land.<\/div>\n
I have friends who are working in jobs that just aren\u2019t the right fit. Either the work isn\u2019t in their skill set, their coworkers are difficult, or the vision of the employer is contrary to their values.<\/div>\n
And there are people who feel that they aren\u2019t doing what they are supposed to do \u2014 with hearts set on digging wells, or feeding orphans, or helping the elderly.<\/div>\n
\nJustin Zoradi<\/strong>, writing for Don Miller\u2019s\u00a0Storyline Blog<\/a>, talks about a friend who spent his days faithfully bussing tables. All the while, he was waiting for God\u2019s call, sincerely believing there would be a sign, a voice or a clear indication of what his next step should be.<\/div>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think God works like that,\u201d Zoradi writes. \u201cYour purpose in life will never be written on the wall. And it will never be revealed to you in full.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cYou want to do meaningful work? Stop sitting on your hands waiting for God to tell you what to do.\u201d<\/strong>\n<\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
I spent many years of my life with the belief that I had a great purpose, but only had a few hazy details. Waiting for clarity didn\u2019t always work out, and the vision eventually faded.<\/strong>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cIf you have a tiny twinge of passion toward anything, you have to jump right through it on your own,\u201d Zoradi implores. \u201cIt is there that God will meet you.\u201d<\/div>\n
I don\u2019t where this fits in my life right now. I wonder if I\u2019m just content, or I really am where I\u2019m supposed to be. I do have those nudges to serve in new ways, but am held back because of insecurity, uncertainty and fear. Will I follow them?<\/div>\n
