\nCobra Commander:<\/b> The whole \u2018Oh if you\u2019re a prisoner or a guest is up to you\u2019 kind of thing is just something you say to a prisoner who you are trying to coerce into helping you. It\u2019s obviously a threat.
\nJohn Galt:<\/b> No you see you misunderstand. I\u2019m letting her know that she doesn\u2019t have to be a prisoner if she just does everything I tell her to and agrees with my goals and helps me.
\nCobra Commander:<\/b> And if she doesn\u2019t\u2026
\nJohn Galt:<\/b> I don\u2019t have to worry about that, because as we\u2019re all radically self interested people here who believe only in following our own desires we naturally are all in perfect agreement about what we should do.
\nCobra Commander:<\/b> Right. But hypothetically speaking if she didn\u2019t actually agree with you and you had to do something about that.
\nJohn Galt:<\/b> We have\u2026 contingency plans. That\u2019s been alluded to in a vague sense.
\nCobra Commander:<\/b> Okay you know alluding vaguely to what you might do with potential interlopers, again we\u2019re still pretty firmly in the villain territory here.
\nJohn Galt:<\/b> Nonsense! The world is crafted in such a way that we\u2019ll never have to address those issues, so there\u2019s no real sense in wondering about the morality of them. We just have to make a little note here or there that implies we\u2019re ready for the situation to show how competent and thus morally righteous we are.
\nCobra Commander:<\/b> Okay but the problem with all that is that I\u2019m here and I\u2019m completely planning on robbing you of your super motor, because do you have any idea that stealing super technology from people is easily my second or third favorite thing to do?
\nJohn Galt:<\/b> I\u2019ll stop you by doing what I do best. Nothing.
\nCobra Commander:<\/b> Nothing. Nothing is what you\u2019re best at.

\nJohn Galt:<\/b> Well I mean I\u2019ve done things in the service of doing nothing. I meant more that I was doing everything in my power to not help the world in any way.
\nCobra Commander:<\/b> Oh I get that but seriously this has been bugging me for just the short list you\u2019ve created a super tech powered perfectly fertile hidden valley inaccessible from the outside world that was yet somehow stocked with farming supplies, livestock, and plenty of machinery made out of components that couldn\u2019t possibly have all been acquired in the area that are all being utilized by the wealthiest geniuses in the world who after a short dialogue\u2026

\nCobra Commander:<\/b> Oh yes, sorry \u2018Monologue\u2019, wouldn\u2019t want to imply that anyone had actually any discussion or decision about all this. No instead after talking at these captains of industry and law and medicine for about an hour you convinced these people who are by your admission obsessed with material wealth and financial prosperity to abandon their material goods and the comforts they bring to set out on a dirt farming life because despite being all radically self interested they\u2019re all shockingly comfortable with communal living working towards a common goal which just so happens to be the destruction of the very world that created them and gave them the opportunities that they exploited to become the people they were before you met them, which is even more shocking considering you were apparently just some crazy crackpot inventor who quit his job when you set out on this insane quest.
\nJohn Galt:<\/b> And yet I succeeded like it wasn\u2019t even a challenge. Why you might even say my heroic triumph was rather boring compared to how interesting a story you painted it as, almost as though stuff that might have been entertaining or at least in need of some kind of focus to explain were just completely glossed over by my improbable capabilities. Probably because I\u2019m the best human being ever.
