Another was about the art of erotic massage, and had a naked woman\u2019s torso with a man\u2019s hand \u2013 barely \u2013 covering her.\u00a0 (And no, I\u2019m not being a prude.\u00a0 I\u2019ve blocked out the image of the book shelf above, but here are two of the images in case you are wondering what kids walk by in Books-a-Million stores all across the nation \u2013 warning, obviously \u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/thebookonline.net\/products_pictures\/314\/314074_large.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">here<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/images.betterworldbooks.com\/184\/Pure-Erotic-Massage-9781844834808.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, no damage had been done.\u00a0 I have a four, an eleven, and a thirteen year old, but they hadn\u2019t seen the display.\u00a0 I promptly, turned the books face down, figuring some teenage kids had come in and thought it would be funny to put pornographic images out in plain view.<\/p>\n<p>Discreetly, I went to talk to a worker at the store.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think someone\u2019s played a prank in the \u2018sexuality\u2019 section,\u201d I said.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s probably just some kids, but there are very sexual images that wouldn\u2019t leave much to kids\u2019 imaginations over there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cashier shook her head and said, \u201cThose books on the top shelf are exactly as they are supposed to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou mean the one that literally shows two people having sex is supposed to be out in plain view?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She pointed at a poster on the customer service desk.\u00a0 \u201cYou can call corporate if you like.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She did. <strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/frenchrevolution\/2012\/05\/13\/forget-fabio-books-a-million-displays-books-with-pornographic-covers-in-plain-view-of-children\/%20\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Read on<\/a><\/strong> to find out what happened.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My blog neighbor Nancy French visited a bookstore in Tennessee the other day and got an eyeful: There, right next to the nice Civil War section (this is Tennessee, after all) is apparently a \u201csexuality\u201d section, showing various sexual positions in plain view.\u00a0 And when I showing, I mean\u00a0showing.
