The billboard, located at the corner of Watts Street and Sixth Avenue, reads: \u201cThe most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb.\u201d As CBS 2\u2019s Pablo Guzman reports, while the ad was intended to spark debate, for many, it\u2019s simply sparked outrage.<\/p>\n

If the idea of advertising is to get your attention, the billboard doesn\u2019t disappoint. It\u2019s the combination of the girl and those words. East Flatbush\u2019s Daisy Frith\u2019s initial reaction was typical.<\/p>\n

\u201cWHAT<\/em>?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The billboard is part of a national campaign sponsored by the anti-abortion<\/a> group \u201cLife Always<\/a>\u201d and hangs about a half-mile from a Planned Parenthood<\/a> facility on Bleecker Street.<\/p>\n

The Texas-based group claims Planned Parenthood targets minority neighborhoods and that abortions among African-American women are three times that of the rest of the population.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019m sure black women are going to respond, in large part, because they have only heard one side of the argumentation. They only see it from Planned Parenthood\u2019s position of a woman\u2019s right to choose, meaning that the only choice that a woman has is to abort the baby. That\u2019s not the only choice!\u201d said Pastor Stephen Broden from the anti-abortion group LifeAlways.<\/p>\n

Pastor Broden said his group bought the billboard to get exactly this kind of debate going.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
