AFA is calling for a limited one-month boycott of Radio Shack over the company\u2019s censorship of the word \u201cChristmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

For years, Radio Shack has refused to use the word Christmas on its website, in television commercials, newspaper ads and in-store promotions, despite tens of thousands of consumer requests to recognize Christmas and in spite of repeated requests from AFA to do the same.<\/p>\n

Want proof?<\/strong>\u00a0Go to\u00a0www.radioshack.com<\/a>\u00a0and type \u201cChristmas\u201d in the search bar. As of today, the website brings up zero results.<\/p>\n

At Radio Shack, you\u2019ll find \u201choliday\u201d deals, \u201choliday\u201d kickoff, \u201choliday\u201d cash and a \u201choliday\u201d gift guide, but you won\u2019t find \u201cChristmas\u201d anywhere.<\/p>\n

Radio Shack is censoring the word Christmas, pure and simple. Yet the company wants all the people who celebrate Christmas to do their shopping at its stores.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I think this response<\/a><\/strong> makes much more sense:<\/p>\n

Is this really how Christians want to make their voices heard? Do we really want to be known for demanding that others explicitly recognize and promote\u00a0our<\/em>\u00a0religious holidays?<\/p>\n

Would Jesus boycott a store that didn\u2019t celebrate his birthday?<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think so. I think he would have gone out of his way to shop at such a store, to engage with the people there, to show them the warmth, compassion, and love for which he gave his life. I think the petty economic activism advocated by the AFA is the antithesis of how Christians are supposed to interact with the world.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t regularly shop at Radio Shack. But the AFA\u2019s latest \u201ccampaign\u201d sure makes me want to.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
